Kek Pisang Keju (Banana Cheese Cake)



  • 150 g plain margarine
  • 200 g sugar powder
  • 5 yolks
  • 3 ripe bananas (pisang ambon or cavendish), mashed.
  • 50 ml milk
  • 100 gr grated cheddar cheese
  • 250 gr flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla powder
  • 3 albumins
  • salt to taste


  • In a large mixing bowl, stir margarine and sugar powder to combine. Add yolks, one at a time, while beating on medium speed until fluffy.
  • Add mashed bananas. Beat until the bananas completely dissolved.
  • Add milk and 50 gram grated cheese. Beat well.
  • Gradually add flour, salt, baking powder and baking soda. Beat well. Set aside.
  • In a small bowl, shake albumins and vanilla until foamy. Add to the banana mixture, stir until mixed well.
  • Prepare a square tray, coat it with margarine. Pour in the banana mixture.
  • Bake in the oven until half-done. Drizzle with remaining grated cheese. Continue baking until golden brown.
  • Cool for 10 minutes on a wire rack. Remove cake from the pan to cool completely.
  • Cut and serve the banana cake.
